Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is a fast-paced, 90-minute farce that parodies Bram Stoker’s classic novel. It follows meek real estate agent Jonathan Harker as he travels to Transylvania, only to discover his client is an irresistibly attractive, pansexual Count Dracula. When the Count targets Harker’s fiancée, famed female vampire hunter Dr. Jean Van Helsing is called in.

The high-energy stage adaptation leans heavily on absurdity, quick-change character antics, and gender-bending roles, while keeping the general structure of the original story intact.

This show requires actors to speak with different dialects, embrace distinct characters, and be able to switch between characters very quickly in some cases.

Parts are available for 3 men and 2 women (18+):

Actor 1 – male – dialects and characters. (English, Scottish, Texan, RP, Cockney)

Actor 2 – male – fast character switching and physical comedy. (High and low English)

Actor 3 – female – high and low English, fast character switching

Actor 4 – female – physical comedy, English and German, fast switching

Actor 5 – male – single character – Transylvanian (can you guess who this is?)

The gender roles are not set in stone. Anyone may audition for any role.

Content warning: There are a couple of kissing scenes between actors 1, 3, and 5 (yes, 1 and 5 are potentially male). The show is PG-13 rated due to some innuendos.
