Billings Studio Theatre's Summer Acting Camp for Kids

Come Join The Coolest Arts Camp in Billings!!
Let Billings Studio Theatre take you to back to the 50s with Let’s go to
the Hop! Summer Camp. The two week camp will feature some of the most
exciting musical numbers from the 1950s. We will be offering a two-week,
full-day TKO (that’s Theatre for Kids Only) summer camp for
children ages 8-18 years old. Instruction will be in the following areas:
acting, singing, and dancing. The camp begins on July 13 and runs thru July 24th
with performances--July 24th at 7:00pm and July 25th at 2:00pm.The camp time
will be 9:00am to 3:30pm with a lunch break from 12:00 to 12:30 each day.
Campers need to bring a sack lunch. The cost of the camp is $275.00 with a $25
discount for each additional family member. Partial scholarships are available
based on need. The class enrollment will be limited to 60 children in order to
insure that students receive individualized training. Camp must have a minimum
enrollment of 30 students to be held. Shirts, daily snacks, two admissions to a
performance and a pizza party are

Summer Camp Staff

Wendy Carlin began her career right here in Billings,
Montana with Missoula and Billings children’s theatre productions. She moved
to Las Vegas in high school and worked as a singer and dancer for 12 years
at some of Las Vegas' most premier entertainment venues,
including the MGM Grand, the Stratosphere, and the Debbie Reynold’s hotel.
She was a cast member in the North American tour of Miss Saigon
before returning to Billings to teach. She is currently a teacher at Beartooth
Elementary school and continues to work in theatre and dance. She appeared
in BST productions of Oklahoma!, The Mikado, Children of
Eden, Doubt and many others. She also directed the 2006
production of Cats and the 2007 holiday musical The Wizard of Oz.
She also directed the 2009 Growing Stage Production of High School
Musical . She is very eager to work with this year’s Billings Studio Theatre summer
camp students.
Jeff Boschee has a degree in theatre from Eastern
Montana College and has been employed as the Technical Director of Billings
Studio Theatre for fifteen years. He has been on the staffs of both Montana
State University-Billings and Rocky Mountain College teaching theatre
courses. You may remember him for his role in Heartland starring Rip
Torn. Jeff has either directed or appeared in over a hundred productions in
the Billings area including the recent 2008-2009 season hits, The Sound
of Music and Guys on Ice.
Summer Egan was born and raised in Carmel, New
York. She started dancing at the age of two and really enjoyed ballet, tap,
and jazz through middle school. In high school she joined a competitive
cheerleading squad and began choreographing pom routines for the team. While
studying Education and English at the University of Vermont, Summer joined
the dance team and continued to choreograph hip hop and pom routines to be
performed at basketball games. Upon graduation, she moved to Honolulu,
Hawaii to teach high school English and enjoy the beach for a year. She is
currently finishing her masters degree at MSU Billings in Reading Education.
Recently she has spent time working with the Billings Outlaws Dance Team and
choreographing BST's High School Musical. She looks forward to
working with future dancers!
